From 1932 to 1941 the journal was intermittently called Neugeist. It was revived in 1950 at first under the original name and then as Vivos Voco, Esotera, Neue Esotera. Before World War II the journal featured articles by Georg Lomer, J.M. Verweyen, "Peryt Shou" (Albert Schultz), D. Ammon, Princess Karadja, G.W. Surya, H. Balzli, Hans Freimark, Georg Sulzer, Bo Yin Ra, and other notable occultists, with occasional translations from American New Thought authors. The journal regularly gave meditation thoughts ("I am under the protection of the good," etc.), and urged "More practice--not mere theory!" This was coupled with an emphasis on "natural" remedies and health systems, Lebens- und Heilreform, recommended foods (primarily raw), reform in education, most evident in the bundled advertisements for astrological jewels, nudist magazine, Lebens-Elixiers, devices to protect from harmful earth-rays ("Phylax-Apparat"), "Vitam-R," the Lebensmotor ("Titus-Perlen"), the Prana "Konzentrator," etc. There were also extensive lists of Neugeist groups around the world. After the war the journal increasingly favored a bland version of American New Thought. Beginning in 1925 the journal issued a series of booklets (Bucher der "Weissen Fahne") on single topics which ranged from no. 1, "Grundzuge der Neugeistlehre," through no. 8, "Wie man die Lebenskrafte steigert," to no. 60, "Die Schule der Liebe: Ein Wegweiser zur Erweckung und Steigerung der Liebeskrafte im Menschen." The final pre-war monograph (no. 100) was devoted, ominously, to von Hindenburg.
